Book 1-High-Tech IDs:

8. Each section is talking about a specific form of identification, however that main topic is biometric.

9. The book is mostly about currant biometrics, but there is a section about the history of biometrics. The most recent date in the history section is 1998.

10. There is specific technological developments having to do with fingerprint scanners and other technology that helps identify a person by their voice, fingers, DNA and others. I believe one of the most recent date that is mentioned is about a company that developed the first commercial biometric system based on the vein patterns in the hand.

11. chapter one: what is biometrics?- this chapter gives an overall view of biometrics and talks about the beginnings of biometrics and the basic tools.

chapter two:What makes you unique?- this chapter talks about how you can identify a person by what they are made of- DNA.

Chapter 3: Putting Biometrics to work-  this chapter talks about how people use biometrics to do their jobs, for example the police.

chapter4- The hand as a biometric tool- this chapter talks about fingerprint scanners and how biometric tools are specific to hands.

chapter 5- The eyes and face as biometric tools- this chapter talks about Retinal scanning, Iris scanning, Facial recognition and growing use of facial recognition.

Chapter6- Behavioral traits as biometric  tools- this chapter talks about voice patterns, voice verification, and speech recognition.

Chapter 7- DNA Finger printing-this chapter talks about what is DNA fingerprinting and how it has been used as a biometric tool.

chapter8- Challenges facing Biometric systems- this chapter talks about that failure of biometric devices and what happens when they don’t work.

Chapter 9- The future of biometrics- this chapter talks about the future of biometric and what is as in store for the next ten years.

12. There are various amounts of new hardware listed in this book, however one of the newest development listed in the book is in 2003 a tiny, cheap fingerprint scanner.

13. I believe their are some inaccurate information because in the last chapter, the author discusses many new developments and goes about ten years in the future to say what they will be like then, therefore his predictions could be wrong.

15. This book is fairly new and supplies a plethora of information about biometrics and has a large section about DNA and cell division, which is important information. Therefore, i think that this book should remain in the library.

Book 2:  visitors from Outer space

8. The entire book is mainly about the appearences or occurances of visitors from other world on to planet earth. 

9. The book is historical in that it talks about the the hisotry of viisiors from outer space in past  years. The most recent date that this book covers is 1979. 

10. There isn’t a specifice software that is discusses in the book. 

11. ch. 1- Ancient visitors?: This chapter talks about the prehistoric people depicting images and realizing strange, unearthy ceatures. 

ch.2. -Early UFOs: This chapter talks about people discovering and witnissing UFOs in history. 

ch.3- Close encounters of the first kind: This chapter talks about the the first encounter of UFOs. 

ch.4- Close encouters of the second kind: This chapter talks about the second encounter of UFOs.

ch.5- Close encounters of the third kind:This chapter talks about the third encouter of UFOs. 

ch.6- The air forces project blue book: This chapter talks about the United States Air Force’s involvment in UFO’s.

12. Since the book is mainly about the the history of visitors from outerspace , the book doesn’t really mention new software or hardware. 

13. Since the book is mostly historical, the information is focused on the past and from i can tell it mostly correct.

15. I believe this book be retained in the library because even though it’s a little dated, the information in the book is about the history visitors from outerspace which is an important and interesting topic. 

Book 3:  The Respiratory System:

8. The entire book is about the Respiratory system. 

9. There is a section of the book about the history of the respiratory system. The most recent date that the history covers is the 1980s. 

10. There are medical developments mentioned in the book, but there isn’t any specific software or hardware mentioned. 

11. ch. 1- The Breath of life: This chapter talks about realizations and explorations of the respiratory system. 

ch.2- How living things breathe: This chapter talks about the basics of how things breathe and how the respiratoy system works.

ch.3-The Human Respiratory system: This chapter talks specifically on how the human respiratory works and how the respiratory system looks and is conducted. 

ch.4-How Breathing Happens: This chapter talks about the physical things that need to happen for something to breathe and how breathing happens.

ch.5-Where the action is: This chapter talks about the red blood cells, where the action is. 

ch.6-What can go wrong?: This chapter talks about the risks and the problems with the respiratory system. 

ch.7-Guarding the Breath of Life: This chapter talks about how to keep the respiratory system working well, healthy and safe. 

ch.8-On the Horizon: This chapter talks about the future of fixing and repairing respiratory system.

12. The The developements are all medical developments, there aren’t any new softwares mentioned in the book. 

13. The newest development isn’t clearly stated in the book, however many new surergies and ways to keep people alive are listed in the book. The most recent sugery the book talks about is the “Domino Surgery” in 1987.
