MLA, modern language Association, specifies guidelines in formatting manuscripts and using the english language correctly in a paper.
Six important elements in an MLA paper-
- Type your paper on a computer and print it out on standard 8.5×11 -inch paper
- double spaced. Legible font like times new roman or courier. font size:10-12 pt.
- leave only once space after periods or other punctuation marks
- set the margins of the document to 1 inch on all sides. indent the first line of a paragraph one half inch from the the left margin
- create a header that numbers all pages the same in the upper right hand corner, one half inch from the top and flush with the right margin.
- use either underlines or italics throughout the essay for titles and to emphasize words.
- include endnotes on a separate page.
